Come to Pinewood’s Diamond Jubilee Tea Party!In celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Pinewood will be hosting its very own Tea Party. Hawkridge Bird Of Prey Centre will be visiting us once again this year for the event and a whole variety of other activities will also be taking place at the Home. This year we have live music from Simon Watton and Sam Pester, a number of competitions, face painting, ice cream, bring and buy and a raffle. All proceeds from the day will be going to Age Concern Budleigh Salterton. Raffle prizes will be gratefully received or collected.

There will be no on site parking on the day but a Shuttle Bus service will be running to and from the Public Hall.

Come to the Pinewood Spring Fête!

Come to the Pinewood Spring Fête!At 2 p.m. on Saturday 16th May, we are having a Spring Fête. Sharandy’s Birds Of Prey will be coming over to feature as one of the main attractions, along with a BBQ combined with a cake stall, cream tea with scones and jam, a bring and buy sale and let’s not to forget the obligatory raffle!

All proceeds raised during the day will go towards the Budleigh Salterton Lions Club who distribute the money to various charities within the local area. Please speak with Ruth if there’s anything you might have to donate.

Pinewood Fete Raises £362 for Age Concern Budleigh Salterton

art competition winner pinewood residential nursing care home devonThere was a fantastic buzz going on at Pinewood on Saturday 4th June. People of all ages were there to take part in the care home’s annual charity fete that was being held as part of the Budleigh Salterton Lions Club Gala Week. Of the various stalls, competitions and activities taking place, not to mention the much anticipated visit from Hawkridge Birds Of Prey, the art competition and face painting proved a real hit amongst the children. People were out in the sunshine enjoying some delicious cream teas, as well as the lovely homemade cakes and cheese straws that were on offer at the cake stall. There were also some great bargains to be had at the bring and buy and some fabulous prizes to be won at the raffle. With £362.22 raised for Age Concern Budleigh Salterton, the management at Pinewood are extremely thankful to everyone in the local community who helped make the day so special. This includes all those who volunteered their help on the day, made donations for the event and of course the visitors themselves.

Pinewood fête raises £377.26 for local charity

spring fete pinewood residential nursing care home devonPinewood Residential and Nursing Home was packed full of people on Saturday 16th May. A Spring fête was being held in order to raise money for the Budleigh Salterton Lions Club and people from all over the local area came to join in. With £377.26 raised, it can safely be regarded as a resounding success. A lot of thanks should go to all those people who donated their items for the bring and buy, raffle and cake stall. Other events included two owls from Sharandys Birds of Prey and cream teas with some lovely clotted cream from the Budleigh Salterton Creamery. Mike the minibus driver also had his pottery out on display. The weight of the cake in the weigh the cake competition was a healthy 7lb 7 oz and the teddy bear’s name was John!
